World Wide Knit in Public Day Celebration
This year, our stores once again celebrated World Wide Knit in Public Day, and after a year of pandemic, the celebration was even more emotional. They brought their workshop tables out into the street, gathered in public squares, organized virtual meetings... Giving rise to new formats and ways of celebrating, which maintain the essence of such a special day for the knitting community: needles, yarn, raffles, and the company of other knitters with whom to share their experiences and advice.
Here's a brief summary:
Hilokune, from Ourense (Galicia), was in charge of calling us to tell us that they were going to organize, together with other colleagues in the profession, El Mundo Teje, a virtual meeting that would last 24 hours and connect knitters from all over the world to share their great passion for needles. We were there telling our story and showing our collection. It has been a pleasure to be part of this initiative!
Las cositas de Yola gathered her clients to knit a Rainbow together in Benítez Camp Park in Churriana (Málaga). There were contests, raffles, and a lovely exchange of handmade gifts during the day.

Paqui from Mercería Las Fuentes in Hoyo de Manzanares, Madrid, gathered her clients in the town square. There were 40 people, and complete families knitting and teaching their passion to the little ones. There were several raffles with baskets and Lanas Rubí lots!

Mar from Abalorios MYR and our Knitter Pro Cucapuntoes held their particular celebration in Tui (Pontevedra). There was a free workshop with Rubí Natural and a knitting breakfast to share their great passion. Throughout the month, they will continue with sponsored workshops, and kits and baskets of yarn will be raffled among all participants.

María José from Puntadicas set up a very special "party" at the door of her store in Andorra (Teruel). They hung pennants and displayed all the garments knitted in their workshops during the last year. Then each student took their needles and knitted grannies to decorate the tree they have at the entrance. There was also a workshop sponsored by Rubí to knit a project with Rubí Macramé.
