FINAL RESULT

PATTERN
Cast on 24 sts and work 7 rows of elastic stitch. In the next row (wrong side), increase 1 st at the beginning and 1 at the end, purling the entire row.
In the next row (right side), distribute the stitches as follows to create the pattern.
K7, P3, K2, P2, K2, P3, K7. In the following row, work each stitch as it appears, only in the two groups of 2 stitches, pick up the yarn in the middle of the two, thus creating the eyelet and increasing 1 stitch to the small cable (eight).
After 6 rows, continue working the stitches as they appear, only in the 3 stitches of each cable, slip the first stitch over the next two. This stitch is recovered again in the wrong side row, by picking up the yarn as we did before. Repeat this until the end.
At 12 cm from the beginning, decrease one stitch on each side, and at 20 cm, increase 1 stitch on each side. At 29 cm, work 7 rows of elastic stitch and bind off all stitches.
The plain part of the wool mittens will be worked in stockinette stitch. Cast on 26 stitches, working elastic stitch as in the previous steps. In the next row, at the beginning of the stockinette stitch, decrease 4 stitches evenly distributed across the row.
At the same height as the other part, we will decrease 1 stitch on each side and also increase 1 stitch on both sides.
When you have reached the same length and before starting the elastic stitch, increase 4 stitches evenly distributed. Work the elastic stitch the same as the others and bind off.
Finally, sew the sides of the mittens, leaving an unsewn gap for the thumb.
