HOW TO MAKE THESE CUTE MACRAMÉ FRINGES?
Knots used:
Braid
Lark's Head
Square
Clove Hitch
Preparation:
Neck: 3 cords of 2 meters.
Shoulders: 4 cords of 2 meters.
Fringe grip: 4 cords of 2 meters.
Fringes: 256 cords of 1 meter.
Execution:
-Start with the neck, using the 3 cords, and braid them. Secure the cords with a knot at one end, and at the end of the braid, make another knot. You now have the base of the project.
-Use the hanger as support. Wrap the braid around the top part of the hanger and make a loop to close it (this will be the closure of the piece for wearing), leave the desired length for the neck. If it slips, use clips to secure it.
-Continue with the shoulder cords, and tie them onto the braid with a lark's head knot. Two on the front, and two on the back. The front and back ones should align and have the same separation.
-On each side of the work, there are 4 cords. Measure 30cm and make 4 square knots in a row. Repeat on the other side. This forms the point for each arm.
-With the fringe cords, at the previous points, tie with a lark's head knot, over the two cords. Start from the bottom, and tie 64 cords on each side.
-When all the fringes are tied, use the fringe grip cords and tie them at the end of each point, at the top. These will be the guide for the clove hitch knot.
-Continue the work with the clove hitch knot, using the cords from the previous step as a guide. Each of them has two cords. Finish by tying next to the square knots.
-Check that all are tied, arrange each knot, comb, and trim the excess so that they are all the same length.
