MATERIALS

To make the ruffled romper, we will use Rubí Bebé yarn (VL016) color 001 (2 balls); Knitting needles No. 2; Tapestry needle and 8 buttons.

PATTERN

Front

Cast on 44 sts. Work 10 rows in garter stitch. Continue with stockinette stitch until it measures 3 cm plain. Here, start increasing on both sides. The first 7 sts and the last 7 sts will be in garter stitch. After the first 7 sts and before the last 7 sts, pick up the yarn to increase 1 st on each side. Do this on every right-side row. Make 19 increases on each side. At the beginning of the next row, increase 6 sts at once, and at the end of the row, another 6 sts. Work 10 rows in garter stitch (on those 6 sts). All other stitches are in stockinette stitch until it measures 25 cm from the beginning (crotch). Here, count 20 central sts and work them 2 by 2. This will decrease 10 central sts at once. After 4 cm from here, shape the armhole 3-2-1 on both sides. After 9 cm from the central decreases, shape the neck - 10 central sts 3-2-2-1-1-1. Then, the shoulder 6-6-6.

Back

Cast on 44 sts and work the same rows as the front, but keep in mind that buttonholes need to be made. After these garter stitch rows, begin the 28 increases, work 10 more rows without increasing any sts, and then it's all in stockinette stitch. At the same distance as the front, decrease the 10 central sts and the armhole 2-2-1.

Divide the work into two parts, first make one and then the other, shaping the shoulders and neck at the same height. The neck 6-5-4 and the shoulders 6-6-6.

On the back opening, pick up the necessary stitches and make buttonholes on one side and sew buttons on the other.

Then, sew the shoulders and then pick up the stitches to make the neck band, which will have 4 rows of garter stitch. Do the same with the armholes, but they will be a little wider (8 rows).

To finish the romper knitted with Rubí Bebé yarn, sew the side seams and sew the buttons on the back and in the crotch.

Ruffles

118 sts. The 1st and 2nd rows are knitted, and on the 3rd row, increase 1 st every 2 sts until the end of the row. Then, 8 rows in stockinette stitch, followed by 8 rows in garter stitch. Finally, baste it to the body as you can see in the photo and sew it.
