CROCHET PARASOL PATTERN
Difficulty level: Medium
Note on rounds:
3 ch count as the first stitch, the slip stitch at the end of the rounds does not count as a stitch.
Round 1
To make this cotton parasol pattern, take the needle and yarn, make a slip knot, chain 6 (very loosely) and join them with 1 sl st, (leaving a large hole to later insert the tip of the parasol at the end of the pattern).
Now, chain 3, crochet 6 groups of 4 dc separated by 2 ch around the circle; these will be the corners, and we will place stitch markers there to guide us if needed.
The 3 ch count as the first stitch of the round.
Close with 1 sl st in the third chain of the first stitch.

Round 2
Chain 5 into the corner space of the previous round (counting the 3 ch as the first stitch).
In the next corner, crochet 2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc, 2 ch, and continue this until the last corner of the round, where you crochet 2 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc, and close with 1 sl st in the third chain of the first stitch of the round.
Round 3
Chain 3, crochet 1 dc in the chain space of the previous round, and 3 more dc, 1 ch.
In the corner, crochet the sequence (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) and 1 ch, and between each corner, 4 dc worked in the chain group of the previous round. Repeat this until the end of the round; after the last corner, close the last ch in the third chain of the first stitch of the round.

Round 4 through Round 16
Important note: from this round onwards, we will work the dc by inserting the hook not under the V but in the middle of the V formed in the previous round, as shown in the image.

From now on:
Repeat round 3, but in the following way: crochet 1 dc over each dc of the previous round, and 1 more dc on each side of the dc, but worked in the chain spaces of the previous round.
Therefore, in each round, we will add 12 more dc to the total for the round, keeping the corners with the same number of stitches.
And in the corners, the usual sequence (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc, 1 ch).

with the first 14 rounds.

Round 17
Chain 5 into the corner space (counts as the first dc of the round), crochet 2 dc into the corner space + 1 ch.

Skip one dc from the previous round and in the next one, crochet *1 dc (on top of the dc from the previous round) + 1 ch.*

Repeat *...* until the next corner. When 2 dc remain, crochet 1 dc + 1 ch, skip the dc next to the corner, and inside the corner, crochet the increase sequence (2 dc + 2 ch + 2 dc).

+1 ch, skip the next dc and continue the sequence (1 dc on top of the dc from the previous round + 1 ch). Upon reaching a corner, repeat the corner sequence, and in the straight sections, the sequence (1 dc on top of the dc from the previous round + 1 ch). When you reach the last corner of the round.

Crochet 1 dc into the corner and close with 1 sl st in the third chain of the first stitch of the round.

From now until round 41, inclusive
Repeat round 17.

Note: by working the corners this way, with dc stitches plus separating chains and 1 dc on each dc of the previous round, our work will increase in stitches in each round.
Round 42
Chain 3 into the chain space and crochet 1 more dc, 2 ch, 2 more dc, 1 ch, skip two stitches, and on the sides of the round, crochet the following:
Side sequence:
in the next space, crochet 5 dc, skip two spaces, and in the next space, crochet 5 dc, repeating until you reach the corner.

Corner sequence:
As you approach the corner, when there are four spaces left to reach it, crochet 5 dc + 1 ch in the next space, and then crochet 5 dc in the following space. *And in the corner, the corner sequence of 2 dc + 2 ch + 2 dc.
Crochet 1 ch, and in the next space, 5 dc.* Continue the round in the following manner: the side sequence on the sides and the corner sequence in the corners until the round is complete.

Close the round with a slip stitch in the third chain of the first stitch of the previous round.

Round 43 through Round 45, inclusive.
Insert the hook into the corner space, chain 3, and work the corner sequence.
Continue to crochet 5 dc into each space between the stitch groups of the previous round.
Work in the same manner until the end of the round for the sides and the corner sequence in the corner. Finish the round with a slip stitch.

Round 46
Now we will crochet the edging of our parasol.
Crochet this entire round in dc. As follows: Chain *3 (counts as the first stitch of the round), crochet 1 dc in the corner space + 2 ch + 2 dc* for the rest of the
round. In the straight sections, crochet 1 dc for each stitch of the previous round, and in the corners, the corner sequence.
Round 47
Crochet 2 sc into the chain arch and in the next stitch, our new sequence for this round.
*1 sc + 3 ch, next stitch 2 dc in the same stitch, skip two stitches* continue the sequence until the next corner.
When two stitches remain, crochet 1 sc + 1 sc, and in the corner chain space, crochet 2 sc. In the next two stitches, crochet 2 sc, and continue with the sequence *...* on the sides and the corner sequence in the corners.
Close with a single crochet stitch.
Round 48
Crochet 3 sc in a row *chain 8, skip the next chain group from the previous round, and in the next group, in the first dc, crochet 1 sc.* Continue until the end of the round.

Round 48:
Now the following sequence inside the chain arch:
Crochet
*9 dc + 8 ch + 1 sc at the beginning of chains + 9 dc + 1 sc in the sc of the previous round*
Repeat until the end of the round.
Close with 1 sl st.

Round 49
Now, at the corner, turn the work and position the hook slightly (as in the image) and crochet 10 sc until the next peak.
Turn the work, chain 1, and crochet another round of 10 sc (repeat 2 more rounds the same way).

Fold in half and single crochet, taking only the inner loop to join the two parts.
(A small triangular pocket will form). Fasten off and cut the yarn, repeat in the same way for the rest of the corners.

Now we just have to put our piece on the frame and enjoy the best summer accessory.
