Knitting machines

How and when did the idea to create content to share your passion on social media come about?

Honestly, there's no when or how. I had my IG account where I shared my stuff. I was already teaching knitting at the German School of Barcelona and I also shared that passion, teaching, and the level of my posts gradually increased. I was offered collaborations and asked for patterns, and I thought that sharing it with whoever wanted it was a beautiful part of my work and my hobby, which you could say are quite fused.

What do you like most about knitting and designing?

I am a very creative person, and knitting and designing allow me to express myself to the fullest. I've drawn, sculpted, done photography... Artistically, I've tried everything, but there was always something missing. All of that always stayed in a corner, it didn't have a defined use. Knitting and designing garments is my best way of expressing myself and exploding with ideas with a final use, and that completes it.

What does knitting bring to your daily life?

Relaxation, relief, introspection, tranquility, self-love...

What inspires you when creating new products?

First, wearable garments (especially for me, because I basically design in the style I like to wear, even if it's not so commercial) and second, creativity. This arises from seeing a painting, an advertisement, a need, a piece of pottery, a movie, or a walk. I always carry my camera with me and photograph everything that catches my attention. I have a folder on my computer called INSPO, and when I need it, I browse through it.

What is your next challenge?

A challenge as such... natural dyes! I'm really looking forward to getting into that. I'm tremendously eager to take a workshop and dye some of the household cloths that I don't like at all.

An anecdote?

I learned to crochet when I was little, about seven years old, with my great-aunt. I was always complaining about how long I had to make the chains (she taught me with a 2mm hook and perlé thread) and it stressed me out a lot. She didn't give me much credit! Now we knit together, and she asks me how to do things. And I love being able to teach her!
