Aurea I'm a mess

When and how did the idea for your blog come about?
Well, more than an idea, it was a succession of events… almost everything I do in life is like that, I love letting myself be carried away by things that motivate me and seeing how far they take me. About seven or eight years ago, I was at a point where I felt the need to create with my hands again and step away from the digital world a bit. I needed not only to see, but to touch and feel what I was creating, so I decided to go back to crafts (years ago I used to knit and create with my hands). But since old habits die hard, I couldn't resist starting a blog and sharing the things that motivated me. So it wasn't really an idea or a plan, it was the need to create and the pleasure of sharing that made me start the blog.
What do you like most about being a designer?
Without a doubt, the part I enjoy most about design is the creative process, experimentation, and trying new things. This type of work, where you push your limits, generates a lot of pressure and stress but offers very enriching results; you gain more experience and they are very satisfying.
What inspires you when creating new products?
Sometimes inspiration comes unbidden, and you have to seize it! Other times it's the result of a lot of work, trying, and experimenting. Over time, I've realized that our surroundings directly influence what inspires us, so I guess one could say that my greatest source of inspiration is what's around me and my daily experiences.
What's your next challenge?
Oh! Well, I have several! I think the main one is to organize them, hahaha. Right now, I'm starting to work as a content creator and I'm quite motivated by everything that's coming out. Also, I'm about to launch something with some very professional people and I'm very involved in it... but it's still a secret! And after that, I want to keep pushing crochet and some other disciplines that really attract me, and also give more momentum to the blog and my YouTube channel. So yes, my main challenge is learning to prioritize ?
An anecdote?
Well... Something that makes me very excited are my "traveling cupcakes". When I started the blog, I set myself a challenge to knit 101 cupcakes. I reached 33 - though I want to continue - And unexpectedly, I got a call from a Japanese art gallery in New York (Resobox), where they were holding an amigurumi exhibition, and one of my first cupcakes went there! And not only that! But it ended up being exhibited at "Vogue Knitting Live NY". And since then, it makes me very happy to know that my creations travel all over the world. There are Cupcakes in Europe, the United States, and even Australia!
