Beatrice's Shop

When and how did the idea of creating your social media and website to share your work come about?
The idea for the website came from the desire to show my work to as many people as possible and what the discovery of the macramé technique has brought me:
Since I was little, I've loved crafts in general and always tried to give something I made as a gift, but four years ago I took a macramé course and was fascinated by its positive influence on mood, stress, etc. Also, I realized that seeing pieces made by other people also gave me that good feeling. That's why I wanted to create Beatrice's shop so that everyone can enjoy this ancient technique. For those who need those moments of calm through making different projects, in kit format or, simply, for those who enjoy contemplating, in their home, a handmade decorative piece or accessory.
What do you like most about dedicating yourself to design?
What I like most is the challenge of facing a blank page and creating something unique out of nothing. The truth is that macramé has so many possibilities that it is very satisfying.
Although I also really enjoy keeping up to date with all the latest materials and trends.
Whether you are creative or not, whenever you create a design, you think about the next one you want to make. And, really, you feel good (they say it's mental yoga).
Macramé has many possibilities, beyond tapestries, and that's what makes me like it so much. Designing to include macramé in any everyday object.
What inspires you when creating new products?
My inspiration always comes from a passion for craftsmanship, because I highly value handmade goods.
I am inspired by artisan crafts that are passed down from generation to generation, appreciated and valued, regardless of the years or even the damage they may have suffered.
What is your next challenge?
My challenge is to incorporate macramé into home design for daily use, thus bringing traditional handcrafted pieces into everyday life, to feel the satisfaction of having something unique made with love in every knot.
An anecdote?
Yes, a funny anecdote: With the small leftover pieces of yarn from projects, I make collars and small toys (knots) for my cats and dogs. Sometimes, they appear in the photos, as part of the setting, to showcase the work I put up for sale. Well, I've been asked if the price included the toy for dogs and cats... I'm thinking it could be. ;-)
