When and how did the idea of creating your social media and website to share your work come about?
From the beginning, I felt the need to share my work with someone other than my family. Every time you create something, you feel happy, but sharing it with the world is a way to give it a concrete form.
In 2019, I felt I needed to listen to a part of me that had been dormant for a long time, and the best way to do that was by bringing Drawing Knots to life. I felt that macramé was the path I had been searching for, and everything happened spontaneously.
What do you like most about dedicating yourself to design?
I've been a very creative girl since childhood; everything related to creativity has always fascinated me, and seeing something come to life from an idea in your head is priceless. I love the infinite possibilities that macramé gives you when it comes to devising new projects. With this technique, you can create so many things with just your hands, and you never get bored!
What inspires you when creating new products?
Nature is my primary source of inspiration; everything related to it, its colors, its different textures, greatly motivates me. I also think about what I would like to have in my home or my wardrobe, and from there I look for the best way to make it a reality, always keeping practicality in mind.
What is your next challenge?
I am practicing natural dyeing, and in the future, I would like to incorporate it into my work consistently, and why not, also in my future workshops.
Any anecdotes?
I carry spools of thread everywhere. If I have to pack a suitcase, I always try to add ropes and put fewer clothes. In the summer of 2020, my children and I traveled from Italy to Spain by car with a 2-meter wooden stick I had collected in the Alps, wedged along the entire car, because I needed it and didn't want to leave it behind! Macramé has become a lifestyle for me, and I can no longer imagine my life without it.
