Mom's workshop

When and how did El taller de mamá come about?
I had the idea at the beginning of 2016, in an effort to unite my two passions at the time: crochet and motherhood, hence the name.
I have always enjoyed crafts and handmade things since I was a child. I learned to knit with two needles when I was very young, but crochet always eluded me. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my daughter that I finally learned to crochet, and then I couldn't stop. Discovering amigurumis was very special because I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, but once I started, I thoroughly enjoyed making them.
How has it evolved?
Well, I started by learning the basics, and then every time I saw a new technique, I had to learn it: amigurumi, trapillo, tapestry, Tunisian crochet… I love this world because it has infinite possibilities. The idea of the blog was a window to share what I like.
The best moment?
Without a doubt, it's when I have the pleasure of delivering something I've made and seeing the face of the person receiving it. If it's a child receiving an amigurumi, their smile is guaranteed, and that moves me.
And the next challenge?
A collection of patterns I'm currently working on.
An anecdote…
One day, while making personalized amigurumis, I couldn't find the right thread color for the skin tone I needed, and the girl who had ordered the doll asked me to put makeup on it. So I took some bronzing powder, a brush, and darkened her skin tone. It turned out perfect!
Why did you decide to specialize in amigurumis?
Simply because I love them; I find them to be super special pieces. Each one is unique, and they require a lot of patience and affection.
