Idealium

When and how did the idea of setting up your Idealium online store come about?

When I noticed that I was spending more and more hours knitting and designing crochet project ideas, I thought it would be very rewarding to turn my passion into my profession.

How has it evolved since you started the project?

Idealium is a very recent project, and we have just opened the store, but from the birth of the idea until now, we have already seen a great conceptual evolution. Initially, the idea emerged as an online store, but it quickly evolved (and we are still on this path with an ambitious project) towards providing added value: offering customers "something more than a ball of yarn": firstly, quality, both in product and in service and customer care. Secondly, offering a ball of yarn + an idea, a ball of yarn + classes/tips, in short: a ball of yarn + inspiration... This is where the "Inspírate" (Get Inspired) section comes from.

Why did you decide to bet on Lanas Rubí?

Rubí seemed like the product that best supported what Idealium wanted to offer: good quality at the best price. I believe that with the Rubí range we can offer a very complete catalog of good products, and at the same time, at very good prices. The feeling I got from the Rubí team also helped, because I thought they were a good working team to bet on for the future.

What has surprised you the most since you started?

That despite the online store having been open for a short time and still having so few content ideas, kits, and courses, people have actually been very friendly and have welcomed us very well online, having received many emails interested in our ideas and future projects.

And the next challenge?

Significantly increase the content of the Inspiration, Kits, and Downloadable Patterns sections, to try to offer the greatest possible added value that accompanies a good product.

An anecdote…

I'll remember the day a little girl saw one of my crochet works and was fascinated by the idea that I had knitted it myself, the DIY concept. To see in her eyes how interest was born and the seed of a new crochet enthusiast was sown by discovering this world, is priceless!

What differentiates you from other online yarn stores?

I believe that the great difference we bring is that passion for ideas, design, and focus on the customer experience, the continuous search for a user's visit to our store not to be limited to seeing a list of materials, but to be a time that the customer enjoys and sees something that excites them, that what we offer generates an emotion: a product with a soul.

Which section do you think will be the most successful?

This is a double-edged question. As a store, the section we expect to be most successful is "Yarns," closely followed by "Cotton." As a corporate project, we believe that the "Inspírate" section will have a lot of pull, not so much in terms of sales, but by improving our customers' experience, one thing is completely linked to the other, so it will be a very important ingredient.
