How did Yellow Knit come about?

It's been over three years now. I've always loved making things with my hands, and one summer when I didn't go on vacation, I picked up crochet again and thought it would be nice to have a space to show what I was making, even if it was just for myself.

How has it evolved?

After tinkering with the blog a lot, taking some courses, trying to improve the photos, and dedicating many hours to it, Yellowknit was born. Yellow has always been a very present color in my life, and I wanted it to be part of the name.

The best moment?

Undoubtedly, the people you meet along the way. Also, the excitement of seeing that customers like what you do, or the personalized orders, because there's always a story behind them.

And the next challenge?

I'm making a mini collection of embroidered purses that I want to release soon. I'm also preparing patterns for winter.

An anecdote…

In one of the first classes for children, I had to teach everyone how to make a magic ring. It was absolute chaos, but in the end, everyone left with their crochet piece. When it was over, we laughed a lot, but at that moment, it was a bit stressful.

Do you think handmade items today have the value they deserve?

I think they are increasingly gaining value, but there are still many people who don't give them the value they deserve, starting with ourselves, who sometimes tend to undervalue them. There will always be someone willing to pay a fair price. There's a lot of work behind each piece, whether it's an amigurumi, a crochet basket, or an embroidered hoop, and not just the work of making it, but all the prior and subsequent work.
