MATERIALS:
Rubí Sweet Merino, 007 (2 balls).
Knitting needles 2.5 mm.
Crochet hook 2 mm.
Tapestry needle.
2 buttons.
5 stitch holders.
Stitches used and abbreviations:
1/1 rib st (k1, p1): 1/1 rib stitch (k1, p1). Knit one stitch and purl one stitch, repeating the sequence throughout the row. On the wrong side row, knit as stitches present.
stockinette stitch: stockinette stitch. On right side rows, knit all stitches, and on wrong side rows, purl all stitches.
k st: knit stitch / k sts: knit stitches
p st: purl stitch / p sts: purl stitches
k2tog: decrease. Knit 2 stitches together.
inc: increase. Knit 2 stitches into the same stitch.
ch: chain.
sc: single crochet
st: stitch / sts: stitches.
row: row / rows: rows.
Gauge:
With 2.5mm knitting needles and stockinette stitch: 31 stitches and 42 rows.
Instructions:
NOTE: This bolero is started at the neckline and knitted in one piece. Knit with 2.5mm knitting needles.
Cast on 59 sts.
Row 1: k6, (yo, k2, yo, k7) x 5 times, yo, k2, yo, k6. (71 sts.)
Row 2 and all even rows: Purl all stitches and yarn overs.
Row 3: k6, (yo, k4, yo, k7) x 5 times, yo, k4, yo, k6. (83 sts.)
Row 5: k6, (yo, k6, yo, k7) x 5 times, yo, k6, yo, k6. (95 sts.)
Row 7: k17, (yo, k1, yo, k14) x 4 times, yo, k1, yo, k17. (105 sts.)

Purl the next row (row 24) and then, on the next right side row, distribute the stitches among the sleeves, back, and fronts.
Place the first 30 sts. of the row onto a stitch holder to hold the right front; place the next 35 sts. of the first sleeve onto another stitch holder; place the next 59 sts. of the back onto another stitch holder; place the next 35 sts. corresponding to the second sleeve onto another stitch holder; and place the last 30 sts. of the left front onto another stitch holder.

BACK
Rows 25-38: Resume the sts. from the back stitch holder (59 sts.). Knit 12 rows in stockinette stitch, inc 1 st. (knit two stitches into the same stitch) at the beginning and end of each right side row, a total of 6 sts. on each side. (71 sts.). Knit 2 more rows (rows 37 and 38) in stockinette stitch.
Row 39: Cast on 5 sts. at the beginning of the row and knit all stitches to the end of the row.
Row 40: Cast on 5 sts. at the beginning of the row and purl all stitches to the end of the row.
You will have 81 sts. Continue knitting in stockinette stitch for 36 more rows (until row 77).
RIGHT FRONT
Rows 25-38: Resume the sts. from the right front stitch holder (30 sts.). Knit 12 rows in stockinette stitch, inc 1 st. (knit two stitches into the same stitch) at the end of each right side row (armhole edge). You will have 36 sts. Knit 2 more rows (rows 37 and 38) in stockinette stitch.
Row 39: Knit all stitches to the end of the row.
Row 40: Cast on 5 sts. at the beginning of the row and purl all stitches to the end of the row.
You will have 41 sts. Continue knitting in stockinette stitch for 36 more rows (until row 77).
LEFT FRONT
Rows 25-38: Resume the sts. from the left front stitch holder (30 sts.). Knit 12 rows in stockinette stitch, inc 1 st. (knit two stitches into the same stitch) at the beginning of each right side row (armhole edge). You will have 36 sts. Knit 2 more rows (rows 37 and 38) in stockinette stitch.
Row 39: Cast on 5 sts. at the beginning of the row and knit all stitches to the end of the row.
Row 40: Purl all stitches to the end of the row.
You will have 41 sts. Continue knitting in stockinette stitch for 36 more rows (until row 77).
SLEEVE
Rows 25-38: Resume the sts. from a sleeve stitch holder (35 sts.). Knit 12 rows in stockinette stitch, inc 1 st. (knit two stitches into the same stitch) at the beginning and end of each right side row, a total of 6 sts. on each side. (47 sts.). Knit 2 more rows (rows 37 and 38) in stockinette stitch.
Row 39: Cast on 5 sts. at the beginning of the row and knit all stitches to the end of the row.
Row 40: Cast on 5 sts. at the beginning of the row and purl all stitches to the end of the row.
You will have 57 sts. Continue knitting in stockinette stitch for 64 more rows (until row 105).
On the next right side row (row 106), decrease 6 sts. evenly: (k7, k2tog) x 6 times, k3. You will have 51 sts.
Knit in 1/1 rib stitch for 8 rows. Bind off all stitches as they present.
Resume the stitches of the second sleeve and knit it the same as the first.
Finishing and Assembly:
Sew the side seams and the sleeves and attach them to the body.
Optional (see photo). You can knit a purl row on the right side of the work along the entire edge of the bolero, excluding the collar.
With crochet hook 2 mm, make a trim of 1sc, ch3, 1sc along the entire edge of the bolero, including the collar.
Weave in ends.
Sew the buttons on the right front. The crochet trim will serve as button loops.
