PATTERN

Cast on 56 stitches. We need a multiple of 8 stitches.

R1, R2, and R3: K2/P2/K2/P2/…/K2/P2

R4: •Sl 1 st to cn, K1, K st from cn• /P2/

*Sl 1 st to cn, K1, K st from cn*/P2/•_• /

P2/*_*/…/•_•/P2/*¬_*/P2

In row 4, we will alternate 2 ways of picking up stitches on the cable needle. Notice in the abbreviations that when it is indicated between dots, the needle is held towards you, and when it is between asterisks, it is held away, that way you can make the crosses.

R5, R6, and R7 = R1

R8 = R4

R9, R10, and R11 = R1

In R12 we will continue using the cable needle, but this time we change the number of stitches we pick up with it. This way we change the design of the crosses.

R12: •Sl 2 sts to cn, K1, K 2 sts from cn• / *Sl 1 st to cn, K2, K 1 st from cn*/P2/•_• /*_*/P2 /•_•/*¬_*/P2

R13: K6/P2/K6/P2/…/K6/P2

R14, R15, R16, and R17 = R13

R18 = R12

R19, R20, R21, R22, and R23 = R13

R24 = R12

R25, R26, R27, R28, and R29 = R13

R30 = R12

R31, R32, and R33 = R1

R34 = R4

In R35, we decrease with P2tog, there are 7 in total following this scheme:

R35: K2/P2/K2/P2tog/K2/P2/K2/P2tog/…/K2/P2/K2/P2tog (49 stitches)

R36 and R37: K2/P2/K2/P1/K2/P2/K2/P1/…/K2/P2/K2/P1

R38 •Sl 1 st to cn, K1, K st from cn• /P2/ *Sl 1 st to cn, K1, K 1 st from cn*/P1/•_• / P2/*_*/P1/…/•_•/P2/*¬_*/P1

R39, R40, and R41= R36

In R42, bind off each stitch as it lies, without tightening or stretching too much when doing so.
