Clove Hitch Knot: CHK

HOW TO MAKE THE MALLORCA STRAP?

Tie the 4 cords, 8.10 meters long, folded in half, to the first carabiner with a lark's head knot in this order: blue-green, dark blue, mustard, and blue-green.

Take a 60 cm dark blue cord to tie the 4 cords with a wrapped knot. Make 6 turns, pull, and trim the excess.

Arrange the cords according to the initial color order, and make a row of SKs with the first 8 cords, and another SK directly below it in the second row.

Use the outermost cord on the left as a guide to tie a row of CHKs to the center.

Repeat the same on the right side.

Now place the blue-green guide from the left in front, and with the other guide, tie a CHK to close the triangle.

Continue the diagonal of CHKs, tying all the cords on the right side.

Take the fourth cord in the center and use it as a guide to tie the diagonal of CHKs towards the bottom right with the other three cords.

Now take the first central dark blue cord and, using it as a guide, tie a row of CHKs towards the bottom right angle.

Repeat the same on the other side, using the first mustard cord as a guide and tying a row of CHKs with all the others.

Close the diamond by folding the left guide towards the center and tying a diagonal of CHKs. Repeat the same on the right side with the blue guide. Join the two guides and finish the external diagonals. First the left one.

Then tie the right one. Join the two diagonals in the center, closing the diamond.

Repeat the same pattern along the entire strap. First the three square knots, then the two diamonds, and so on until you reach a total length of 115 cm.

Finish with three SKs and a CHK triangle towards the center. Pass the 8 cords through the carabiner.

Fold the cords and with the second 60 cm dark blue cord, close with the same wrapped knot from above, making 6 turns with plenty of tension, so they hold.

Adjust the tension and carefully trim the excess cords.

You can add a few drops of super glue between the cut part and the blue cord for extra security.

Add the strap to your favorite bag with the carabiners, and you're ready to enjoy!
