Crochet swimsuit neckline

MATERIALS

To make the crochet swimsuit neckline, we will use Rubí Egyptian Cotton No. 5, color 102 (1 ball), a No. 2 crochet hook; a sewing needle and white thread.

PATTERN

To make the crochet neckline, we will use Rubí Perlé Oro. First, we will make the ornament, and then it will be adapted to the swimsuit.

The pineapple ornament is made as follows:

1st rnd. In a circle of 6 ch., make 4 dc. separated by 2 ch.

2nd rnd. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. (2 dc. in the same space, separated by 2 ch.) 2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc.

3rd rnd. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc. 3 ch. 1 dc. 3 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc.

4th rnd. 3 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc.

5th rnd. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. In the next space, make 12 dc. (in the same space) 2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc.

6th rnd. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 12 dc. in the same center st., separated by 1 ch.-2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc.

7th rnd. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 12 dc. separated by 2 ch.-2 ch. 1 dc. 2 ch. 1 dc.

8th rnd. In this rnd. and all subsequent ones, start and finish with the same dc. and ch. that we have been making from the beginning and will continue until the length of the swimsuit straps is complete.

To continue making the pineapple design, make rows of 4 ch. joined with a sl st. in the spaces of the previous rnd.

At the end of each rnd., make 1 fewer pass and 1 more ch. in the next group. This will create a pointed finish as seen in the photo.

To extend the design a bit more, make 2 dc. 1 ch. 2 dc. in the center for 4 rnds., always adding 1 more ch. on each side before the strap design (see photo).

Straps

Continue with the 2 dc. separated by 2 ch. Make the length of the swimsuit strap. Then make the other strap.

Assembly

Finally, using a sewing needle and white thread, sew the crochet embellishment to the swimsuit neckline.
