Lark's head knot: LHK

PATTERN

Cut 20 cm from our 60 cm red cord and fold it in half. Also fold the first of our 1.80 m cords in half and insert it into the middle of the red cord, as shown in the photo. Secure the red cord to the table with tape or a clip, so it doesn't move.

Take two 1.80m cords and insert them with a vertical lark's head knot into both guides.

Insert our third 1.80 m cord with a vertical LHK into the two central guides, so that they meet in the center.

Fold the left cord downwards again and tie an LHK on the left side with the others. Repeat the same on the right side.

Insert our last 1.80 m cord into the two central guides.

Complete the first point by folding the first left and right cords downwards and tying an LHK with the others. We should have 4 lines of LHK on each side.

Fold the first cord to the right and tie an LHK with all the others, leaving a little space at the end. Repeat the diagonal LHK below with all the cords.

Leave the first cord aside and tie the next line of LHK with three cords.

Again, leave the first cord aside and repeat the process with two cords.

Turn the point vertically and fold the top cord downwards, so that it becomes our guide in the second half of the point.

Tie an LHK with the other two cords.

Fold the first cord from top to bottom and tie an LHK with the next two cords.

Then also tie an LHK with the third. Continue folding the first cord from top to bottom and tie an LHK with the other three. Then also with the last cord.

With the help of tweezers or a tapestry needle, pass the first cord from the left into the first right knot, and the first right cord into the first left knot.

Repeat the same with all the other cords, lifting the inserted cords as you pass them, so as not to get confused. The last two remain free.

Take the 40 cm red cord and tie a wrapped knot to close the star. Cut off the excess cord ends.

Finish the star by tying a simple knot in the central red cord.

Cut the cords to the desired length and tie a simple knot at each end.

Done, enjoy!
