MATERIALS
*2 skeins of Rubí Natural Medium color 002 Beige
* 1 skein of Rubí Natural Medium color 026 Caldera
* 1 skein of Rubi Natural color 006 Pink
* 1 skein of Rubi Natural color 030 Black
* 3.5 mm crochet hook (or the one needed to adjust to your tension)
* 1 wooden button
* 12 or 14 cm zipper
* Synthetic stuffing
* Tapestry needle
* Sewing needle
* Sewing thread
* Scissors
* Stitch marker
ABBREVIATIONS
sc = Single crochet
sl st = Slip stitch
sc blo = Single crochet back loop only
hdc = Half double crochet
dc = Double crochet
ch = Chain
inc = Increase
dec = Decrease
[ ] = Work stitches in brackets into the same stitch.
MEASUREMENTS: 12 cm (width) x 6 cm (height) for the base purse, not including the animal ears.
STEP BY STEP
Start by crocheting in beige
Round 1: Make a magic ring with 6 sc (6 sts.)
Round 2: Make 1 inc in every stitch (12 sts.)
Round 3: (1 sc + 1 inc) x 6 (18 sts.)
Round 4: (2 sc + 1 inc) x 6 (24 sts.)
Round 5: (3 sc + 1 inc) x 6 (30 sts.)
Round 6: (4 sc + 1 inc) x 6 (36 sts.)
Round 7: (5 sc + 1 inc) x 6 (42 sts.)
Round 8: (6 sc + 1 inc) x 6 (48 sts.)
Round 9 – 11: Work 1 sc in each stitch (48 sts.)
From this round, we will be crocheting in tapestry, carrying both colors at once. You will
be hiding the yarn under the color you are currently using, and don't forget to
change colors before closing the last stitch with the new color.
Round 12 – 13: Work 22 sc in beige + 4 sc blo in caldera + 22 sc in beige (48 sts.)
Round 14: Work 21 sc in beige + 6 sc blo in caldera + 21 sc in beige (48 sts.)
Round 15: Work 20 sc in beige + 8 sc blo in caldera + 20 sc in beige (48 sts.)
Round 16 – 17: Work 1 sc blo in caldera for each stitch (48 sts.)
Round 18: Work 1 sl st in caldera for each stitch (48 sts.).
Close and fasten off.
Ears x 2 (crochet in caldera color 026)
ROUND 1. Work 3 single crochets, 2 chains, 3 single crochets into a magic ring.
ROUND 2. Make a turning chain (turn your work) and work 1 single crochet in each
single crochet of the previous round, and when you reach the space of the 2 chains,
work 1 single crochet, 2 chains, and 1 single crochet into it.
Close and fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing to the base of the coin purse.
ASSEMBLY
1. Sew the zipper
2. Sew the ears centered, on one side of the base with a separation of 9 stitches.
3. Embroider the eyes in black between round 13 and 15 with a two-stitch separation
counting from the last caldera colored stitch.
4. Embroider the blush in pink on the sides of the eyes.
5. Sew the wooden button as a nose, centered on the first two rows of caldera color.
