PATTERN
Size: M
Size adaptation: this is a loose-fitting top; by following the proposed steps, you will knit
a size S/M. If you need a larger size, you must include more stitches in
the set, which should always be distributed on the sides and between the openwork
patterns that must be respected. See the measurement chart for guidance.
Stitches used: stockinette stitch, openwork patterns.
Difficulty: intermediate
This top is knitted in two pieces, worked independently: front and back; both are identical. It starts with the straps and has a rectangular neckline and armholes. Each motif is formed by 18 stitches, which will eventually become 19 due to one increase in the center.
Straps:
Cast on 12 stitches for each one; if possible, use one ball of yarn for each to knit both at the same time. Both are knitted with the same pattern up to the neckline; you can see it below:
R1: Knit 12.
R2: 1ES/ K2/ P6 / K3.
R3: 1ES / K5/ YO/ K6.
R4: 1ES / K2/ P7 / K3.
R5: 1ES / K4/ YO/ s2kp/ YO / K5.
R6: Same as R4.
All even rows up to R26 will be the same as R4.
R7: Same as R5.
All odd rows up to R25 will be the same as R5.
In R27, we make the increases for the neckline with enough tension so it doesn't stretch. To increase 28 stitches, turn the needles after knitting the first strap with the yarn you are using (the other yarn can be cut, leaving enough to bind off). Turn the needles again and continue knitting the second strap.
R27: 1 ES/ K4/ YO/ s2kp/ YO / K5/ increase 28 st/ K1/ K4/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K5 (54 st)
R28: 1 ES/ K2 / P7/ K34/ P7/ K3
R29: 1ES/ K4/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K38/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K5

R33: 1ES/ K4/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K19/ YO/ K19/ YO/ s2kp/ K5 (55 st)
R34: 1ES/ K2/ P49/ K3
At the end of R34, we increase 15 stitches for the first armhole by turning the needles to make the increases. In total, we will have 70 stitches.
R35: K20/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K18/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K18/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K5
At the end of row 35, increase another 15 stitches for the other armhole. In the same way, and keeping them taut. In total, we will have 85 stitches.
R36: K18/ P49/ K18
R37: 1 ES/ K19/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K18/ YO/ s2kp / YO/ K18 / YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K20

R41: 1ES/ K1/ YO/ K18/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K18/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K18/ YO/ s2kp/ YO/ K18/ YO/ K2 (87 st)
(We have made the remaining increases to complete the patterns)
R42: 1ES/ P85/ K1
All even rows up to and including 84 will be the same as R42.
All odd rows up to 85 are knitted the same as R43:
R43:
1ES/K1/K2tog/YO/K16/YO/ssk/K1/K2tog/YO/K16/YO/ssk/K1/K2tog/YO/K16/
YO/ssk/K1/K2tog/YO/K16/YO/ssk/K2
In row 85, we will begin the motifs for the points or diamonds of the openwork pattern. We will begin from row 7 of the chart, as the previous patterns we have brought down correspond to the first 6 rows.
R85: (1ES/K1/ K2tog/ YO/ K7)/ K2/ * K6/ K2tog/ YO/ K3/ YO/ ssk/ K6*/ K2/*_*/ K2/*_*/ K2 ( K7/ YO/ ssk/ K2 )
From now on, all rows begin and end the same as row 85; what is in parentheses (.) is the beginning and what is in (:) is the end. The two stitches we see between the asterisks, which are the pattern repetitions, are the 2 stitches between them.
(.) = (1ES/K1/ K2tog/ YO/ K7) Beginning of each row.
(:)= (K7/ YO / ssk/ K2 ) End of each row.
Next, the step-by-step instructions for the odd rows. (Even rows = R42)

From here on, we knit the points separately; if possible, knit each with a different ball of yarn to work all three points at the same time.
R117: Bind off 12 st/ *K1 (remaining on needle)/ ssk/ YO / ssk /K1/ YO/ ssk / K5 / K2tog/ YO/K1/ K2tog / YO / K2tog /K1*.
We have worked 19 stitches corresponding to the first peak or point. With another ball of yarn, repeat the same steps between *_*, working another 19 stitches corresponding to the second point, and with the third ball of yarn, repeat *_* which are 19 stitches, and then knit the 12 stitches remaining and the stitches corresponding to the end (:).
In total, we will have 31 stitches.
R118: Bind off 12 Purl/*K1 (remaining on needle) / P17/K1*. Repeat *_* on the other two points, always working 19 stitches on each.
R119: *K1/ ssk / YO/ ssk /K1/ YO / ssk / K3 / K2tog/ YO /K1/ K2tog/ YO / K2tog/K1*. (17 st remaining, work the other two points following the same pattern between *_*)
