3 (4) balls of Sweet Merino by Lanas Rubí yarn (1 ball 50g, 150m)

3.5 mm short interchangeable circular knitting needles with a 40cm cable

3.5mm interchangeable circular needles with

60 cm cable

Set of 5 double-pointed needles, 3.5mm

HOW TO MAKE THE LIMONIUM SWEATER

Sizes 18 and 24 months

Advanced level

GAUGE

10x10 cm with 3.5mm needles in stockinette stitch after blocking: 25 stitches and 34 rows.

ABBREVIATIONS

st: stitch.

row: row (same as round)

purl st: purl stitch.

knit st: knit stitch.

kfb: increase, knit 2 stitches into the same stitch. Knit one stitch, then knit another stitch into the back loop of the same stitch.

yo: yarn over, make a stitch by bringing the yarn over the needle.

k2tog: decrease. Knit 2 stitches together.

ssk: decrease. Slip 2 stitches knitwise one by one, return them to the left needle, and knit them together through the back loop.

sk2po: decrease. Slip one stitch knitwise from the left needle to the right, knit the next two stitches together, and pass the slipped stitch over the two knitted stitches.

m1L: increase. With the tip of the left needle, pick up the strand between the stitch just worked and the next stitch on the left needle from front to back, and knit into the back loop.

M: marker.

B: bobble.

 

STITCHES USED

Stockinette stitch in the round: knit all stitches.

1x1 Rib stitch in the round: knit the sequence 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch throughout the round.

Bobble: Knit 7 stitches into the same stitch. Knit into the same stitch: 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit. Then pass all stitches over the last stitch worked (the one closest to the tip of the needle). Pass the stitches one by one over the stitch closest to the tip of the needle, starting with the closest one, until all 6 stitches have been passed over.

PATTERN

We recommend that you read the entire pattern before starting to knit. This sweater is knitted in one piece, starting from the neckline. Always knit in stockinette stitch unless otherwise indicated.

SIZE 18 MONTHS

With 3.5mm short circular needles and a 40cm cable, cast on 80 stitches. Work in 1x1 rib in the round (place a marker for the beginning of the round).

Work 6 rounds in 1x1 rib.

Work 3 rounds in stockinette stitch.

From this point, we will begin to work increases to form the round yoke.

Work the sequence *2 knit stitches, m1L* throughout the round. You will have 120 stitches. Work 6 rounds in stockinette stitch.

Work the sequence *3 knit stitches, m1L* throughout the round. You will have 160 stitches. Work 5 rounds in stockinette stitch.

Change to regular length interchangeable circular needles with a 60cm cable.

Work the sequence *4 knit stitches, m1L* throughout the round. You will have 200 stitches. Work 5 rounds in stockinette stitch.

Work the sequence *5 knit stitches, m1L* throughout the round. You will have 240 stitches. Work 1 round in stockinette stitch.

In the next round, begin to knit the lace and bobble pattern. Work the chart starting

from the right end and repeating the shaded section throughout the round. Work rounds 1 to 17 of the chart. You can place a marker every 10 stitches to distinguish each repetition of the chart.

Work one round in stockinette stitch.

Next, separate the sleeves from the body. Knit 35 stitches from the beginning of the round marker; place 50 stitches on a waste yarn to hold the first sleeve; knit 70 stitches; place 50 stitches on a waste yarn to hold the second sleeve; and knit 35 stitches.

Continue knitting the 140 body stitches in the round for 18 cm.

Work in 1x1 rib for 6 rounds and bind off all stitches as they appear.

Pick up the stitches of the first sleeve that were on a waste yarn. Distribute them on the 4 double-pointed needles. You will have 50 stitches. Knit in the round for 18cm. In the next round, work decreases evenly throughout the round: (8 knit stitches, k2tog) x 5 times. You will have 45 stitches.

To form the cuff, work in 1x1 rib for 6 rounds and bind off all stitches as they appear.

Pick up the second sleeve and knit it exactly the same as the first.

Weave in ends and block the garment.

SIZE 24 MONTHS

With 3.5mm short circular needles and a 40cm cable, cast on 80 stitches. Work in 1x1 rib in the round (place a marker for the beginning of the round). Work 6 rounds in 1x1 rib.

Work 3 rounds in stockinette stitch.

From this point, we will begin to work increases to form the round yoke.

Work the sequence *2 knit stitches, m1L* throughout the round. You will have 120 stitches. Work 6 rounds in stockinette stitch.

Next, separate the sleeves from the body. Knit 38 stitches from the beginning of the round marker; place 56 stitches on a waste yarn to hold the first sleeve; knit 76 stitches; place 56 stitches on a waste yarn to hold the second sleeve; and knit 38 stitches.

Continue knitting the 152 body stitches in the round for 20cm.

Work in 1x1 rib for 6 rounds and bind off all stitches as they appear.

Pick up the stitches of the first sleeve that were on a waste yarn. Distribute them on the 4 double-pointed needles. You will have 56 stitches. Knit in the round for 20cm. In the next round, work decreases evenly throughout the round: (5 knit stitches, k2tog) x 8 times. You will have 48 stitches.

To form the cuff, work in 1x1 rib for 6 rounds and bind off all stitches as they appear.

Pick up the second sleeve and knit it exactly the same as the first.

Weave in ends and block the garment.
