Mateo Bunny Blanket

Its sweet design melts our hearts, and the material it is woven with, Rubí Petit, has an anti-bacterial and odor-free treatment that will ensure their well-being and safety.

HOW TO CROCHET THE PATTERN?

ABBREVIATIONS

ch. = chain
sl st. = slip stitch
sc. = single crochet
dc. = double crochet
inc. = increase in sc.
fpdc = front post double crochet
bpdc = back post double crochet
puff st. = 4 dc puff stitch.
[ ] = work stitches in brackets into the same stitch.

GAUGE SWATCH

The swatch is made using the double crochet rice stitch, which is used for the blanket: 18 stitches x 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

PATTERN

1.- Read the pattern carefully before starting to crochet
2.- Chain with half or one number more than indicated for crocheting the rest of the blanket base.
3.- Crochet each piece as indicated in the pattern
4.- Sew, embroider, or stuff the pieces as indicated
5.- The blanket base is worked flat, meaning back and forth, chaining 2 at the beginning of each row, which will count as a dc.
6.- The ears, arms, and legs are crocheted in a spiral, using a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

BLANKET BASE

Crochet in beige.
We will use the double crochet rice stitch in relief. To change the size, the number of stitches to cast on must be a multiple of 2 + 1.
Or in other words, an odd number of stitches.
Chain 148 + 2 turning chains (which will count as a dc in this and all subsequent rows of the pattern).
4mm crochet hook
Row 1: (preparation): Crochet 1 dc in each chain, starting from the third chain from the hook (149 stitches).
Row 2: Chain 2 (counts as a double crochet in all pattern rows), skip the first double crochet of the previous row, fpdc in the next stitch, bpdc, repeat the sequence until one dc remains, which we will crochet as a dc.
Row 3 – 66: Repeat Row 2.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

BLANKET BORDER

Start from one of the 4 corners.
Join the yarn, chain one, then follow the same sequence all around the blanket.
[1 sl st., 1 puff st. 1 sl st.], 1 sc in the next stitch when on the width side and in the next row when on the height side.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

EARS

Crochet in beige.
Crochet 2 identical pieces.
Round 1: Make a magic ring with 6 sc. (6 stitches).
Round 2: 1 inc. in each stitch (12 stitches)
Round 3: (1 sc + 1 inc.) x 6 (18 stitches)
Round 4 – 10: 1 sc in each stitch (18 stitches)
Round 11: (4 sc + 1 dec.) x 3 (15 stitches)
Round 12 -14: 1 sc per stitch (15 stitches)
Round 15: (2 sc + 1 dec.) x 3, 3 sc (12 stitches)
Do not stuff.
Fold in half and close the ear with 6 sc, leaving a long tail for sewing.

ARMS AND LEGS

Crochet in beige.
Crochet 4 identical pieces.
Round 1: Make a magic ring with 6 sc. (6 stitches).
Round 2: 1 inc. in each stitch (12 stitches)
Round 3: (2 sc + 1 inc.) x 6 (15 stitches)
Round 4 – 11: 1 sc in each stitch (15 stitches)
Stuff lightly.
Fold in half and close with 5 sc, leaving a long tail for sewing.

ASSEMBLY

Follow the diagram to sew the pieces.

26.5 cm from the top on the left side, join yarn and chain 30. Skip two puff stitches and attach it to the blanket with a single crochet.

Crochet 1 sc around the chain, enough to make it snug.

Fasten off and close, and your button loop is ready.

Below the ears and centered with 9 stitches apart, embroider the eyes with chocolate brown from the Natural quality, and centered with the eyes, embroider the snout.

Embroider the paws in a V-shape with the same color as the eyes and snout, like hooves.

Fold the blanket into 3 parts along the width and roll it up, use the loop to secure the button.

Your Mateo rabbit blanket is now ready.
