MATERIALS

To make the short-sleeved cardigan, we will use Rubí Donna color 001 (5 balls); size 4 knitting needles and a tapestry needle.

Back

Cast on 96 stitches and make squares of 12 stitches x 12 rows, alternating knit and purl direction. After 6 squares, switch to garter stitch. When it measures 36 cm from the beginning, start increasing 1 stitch at a time, distributed evenly up to the shoulder, a total of 8 stitches on each side. The measurement up to the shoulder will be 42 cm.

The shoulder decreases are as follows: 4 times 3 stitches - 4 times 4 stitches - and 2 times 7 stitches. Before finishing the shoulder, we make the neck decreases: 12 central stitches and 6 stitches and 2 stitches. All on both sides.

Fronts

Cast on 48 stitches. Make the squares the same as the back. In the last row of the 6 squares, bind off the stitches of the 2 central squares (24 stitches). Continue, and in the next row, in the space of the bound off stitches, cast on 23 stitches. From here, we start with the garter stitch and increases the same as on the back, but we start the neck shaping 30 cm from the end of the squares.

The front neck shaping is 5 stitches - 3 stitches - 2 stitches - 2 stitches - 1 stitch - 1 stitch.

First, make one front, then the other in reverse.

In the space we made for the pocket, on the garter stitch part, pick up 23 stitches and knit 10 cm and bind off (garter stitch). And on the squared part, pick up 24 stitches and knit them in stockinette stitch (to make it less bulky).

Make a square like the previous one and sew them both together.

Sew the shoulders. Through the neck opening, pick up the necessary stitches to make the 6-row garter stitch band.

Then, do the same on the front, making buttonholes on one side.

Then sew the side seams and attach the buttons.
