STITCHES USED IN THE TOTE BAG WITH EMBROIDERED FLOWERS

You can print this sheet to use as a template for your project
Each stitch is marked on the chart with a letter.
A: The central flower is made with an i-cord using a knitting mill. If you don't have a knitting mill, you can crochet it as follows:
-With 1 ball of Rubí Handy Cotton and a 4 mm hook, chain 3.
-Insert the hook into the second chain and pull up a loop. Do the same in the third chain (you will have three loops on your hook).
-Carefully remove the first two stitches from the hook, making sure not to lose them, and work them as in step 2 (one single crochet in each of the two loops).
-Repeat step 3 as many times as necessary to achieve the desired length.
To learn how to do the following stitches, we recommend clicking directly on each one to watch a video tutorial on how to make them:
B: Herringbone stitch
C: Spiderweb stitch
D: Picot stitch
E: Satin stitch
F: Fishbone stitch
G: French knot
H: Stem stitch
J: Running stitch
I: Lazy daisy stitch
Additionally, Yellow Knit (whose interview as a Knitter Pro you can read here) recommends that whether you embroider it on a tote bag or want to do it on a t-shirt or anywhere else, once you finish and after securing all the threads, you apply an interfacing. This will prevent friction between the contents and the threads, making it last longer.
“To apply the interfacing, you just need to cut it to the size of your embroidery, making sure it fits as snugly as possible so it doesn't show through. Then iron it (not too hot so the adhesive doesn't burn) and your embroidery will be ready.”
