STEP BY STEP

Front

With knitting needles nº 4 and color 006, cast on 20 sts.

Row 1-38: Knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl) for approx. 12cm.

Row 39: Inc. 4 sts. evenly and knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 40-45: Knit in K1, P1 rib.

Row 46: Inc. 8 sts. evenly and knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

Shape the leg as follows:

Row 47: Inc. 1 st at the beginning of the row always on the right side (crotch) and knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 48-54: Knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit).

Row 55-110: Repeat sequence (row 47-54). You should have 40 sts. Place on a stitch holder.

Make another identical piece but in reverse.

Row 111: Knit in stockinette stitch. Inc. 6 consecutive sts. (crotch) and pick up the reserved piece.

Row 112-144: Knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit).

Row 145: Knit 22 sts. in stockinette stitch and place on a stitch holder. Change to color 007 and knit 42 central sts. in reverse stockinette stitch (tree). Place the remaining 22 sts. (color 006) on another stitch holder.

Row 146: Continue with the tree. Dec. 1 st. and knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 147-188: Dec. 1 st. at the beginning of each row and knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit) until 2 sts remain and bind off.

Here we finish the tree.

Pick up the 22 sts. from the right stitch holder.

Row 145: Continue with color 006 and knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 146: Inc. 1 st. on the tree side and knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

Row 147-188: Inc. 1 st. on the tree side and knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl). Place all sts. on a stitch holder.

Pick up the 22 sts. from the left stitch holder and knit from row 147-188 the same way but in reverse.

 

Armhole

Row 189: Knit in stockinette stitch and incorporate the reserved sts. and knit the same way.

Row 190: Dec. 4 sts. at the beginning of the row and knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

Row 191: Dec. 4 sts. at the beginning of the row and knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 192-199: Dec. 1 st. at the beginning of each row and knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit).

Row 200-224: Knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit).

 

Neckline

Row 225: Knit in stockinette stitch. Bind off 10 central sts. and continue in stockinette stitch.

Row 226-231: Dec. 2 sts. at the beginning of each knit row to shape the neckline and knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit).

 

Shoulder

Row 232: Bind off 7 sts. Knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

Row 233: Dec. 1 st. at the beginning (neckline). Knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 234: Bind off 7 sts. Knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

Row 235: Dec. 1 st. at the beginning (neckline). Knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 236: Bind off 7 sts. In this row we finish the shoulder and the left side of the neckline.

NOTE: With the sts. remaining on the right needle, repeat in reverse from row 225 (neckline).

Row 1-30: Knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 31-40: Dec. 1 st. at the beginning of each row, a total of 5 sts. on each side (heel) and knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 41-42: Knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 43-52: Change to color 006. Inc. 1 st. at the beginning of each row, a total of 5 sts. on each side (heel) and knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 53-58: Knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 59: Inc. 4 sts. evenly and knit in K1, P1 rib.

With knitting needles nº 4 and color 006, cast on 38 sts.

Row 1-8: Knit in K1, P1 rib.

Row 9: Inc. 4 sts. evenly and knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 10-14: Knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit).

Row 15: Change to color 007. Inc. 1 st. and knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 16: Inc. 1 st. and knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

Row 17-21: Knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 22-32: Change to color 006. Knit in stockinette stitch (purl/knit).

Row 33-34: Inc. 1 st. and knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 35-73: Repeat sequence (row 22-34).

Row 74: Knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

 

Back

NOTE: It starts at the feet just like the front.

 

Armhole and Comb

Row 75: Bind off 3 sts. Knit in stockinette stitch.

Row 76: Bind off 3 sts. Knit in reverse stockinette stitch.

Row 77-96: Dec. 1 st. at the beginning of each row, a total of 10 sts. on each side and knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 97-100: Dec. 2 sts. at the beginning of each row, a total of 8 sts. on each side and knit in stockinette stitch (knit/purl).

Row 101: Bind off all sts.

FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY

Sew the shoulders.

With knitting needles nº 3 and color 006, pick up the necessary sts. in the neckline and knit 6 rows in garter stitch. Bind off all sts.

How to shape the foot? Sew the sole of the foot matching the 5 dec. with the 5 inc. on each side of the heel.

Sew the sides up to the sole of the foot on the right and left sides of the garment.

 With knitting needles nº 3 and color 006, pick up the necessary sts. along both legs again and knit 6 rows in garter stitch. Bind off all sts.

On the back, do the same but this strip will have buttonholes (approx. every 9 sts. a buttonhole, 5 buttons on each leg and 1 in the center).

Sew the sleeve seams and fit them into the armhole.

At the back opening, with knitting needles nº 3 and color 006, pick up the necessary sts. from the right side and knit 6 rows in garter stitch. Bind off all sts.

On the left side of the opening, pick up the same sts. and knit the same rows in garter stitch and make 6 evenly spaced buttonholes.

Sew the 17 buttons where their buttonholes correspond.
