Ruby Amigurumi Dress

MATERIALS

For the Ruby Amigurumi dress, we will use Ruby Amigurumi (VHA14) color 652 (2 skeins) and color 721 (1 skein); 2.5 mm knitting needles; tapestry needle; 4 buttons.

PATTERN

Size 2-3 years

Body

Cast on 64 stitches. Work 6 rows in garter stitch. Then, continue in stockinette stitch. At 7 cm, work 9 stitches in garter stitch and after 6 rows, bind off 6 stitches. This creates the armhole and is done on both sides.

Continue in stockinette stitch, except for the edges where we work 3 garter stitches on each side. At 10 cm from the beginning, work the central 30 stitches in garter stitch. After 6 rows, bind off 24 stitches, leaving 3 garter stitches on each side. This will be the strap, which will have 14 stitches.

Continue without a shoulder seam and at 9 cm from the neckline, increase 12 stitches, work 6 rows in garter stitch, continue and at 4 cm from here, increase 6 stitches for the back armhole. Then, follow the same measurements as the front and the same final garter stitch rows.

At the back closure, we will pick up the necessary stitches for the button band on one side and the buttonholes on the other.

Skirt

Work 3 rows in garter stitch and begin the skirt lace pattern as follows:

Make lines of 10 stockinette stitches with 2 purl stitches in between.

• On the first row on the right side of the work, do the following:

In the lines of knit stitches, pick up 1 stitch, yarn over, and knit 2 stitches together.

Work the rest in stockinette stitch until the line of 10 stitches is finished.

Then, work the 2 purl stitches in between the lace pattern again.

On the wrong side of the work: knit 2 stitches and purl 10 stitches.

• The second row on the right side of the work:

Instead of 1 stockinette stitch, work 2 stitches, yarn over, and knit 2 stitches together and continue in stockinette stitch until the line of 10 is finished.

And then, again 2 purl stitches in between and repeat until the end. Work the wrong side row as before.

• The third row on the right side of the work:

Knit 3 stitches, yarn over, knit 2 stitches together, and finish the remaining stitches in stockinette stitch, then 2 purl stitches.

Work the wrong side row as we have been doing in the previous steps.

• And on the fourth row on the right side of the work, we will make the last eyelet of the lace pattern:

Knit 4 stockinette stitches, yarn over, and knit 2 stitches together. Then, work 2 purl stitches and continue until the end.

On the next row, follow the steps we have been doing on the wrong side of the work.

*We will need to repeat these 4 rows on the right and wrong side a total of 11 times (which, as you can see in the photo, is the number of lace groups we have in each vertical line of the dress).

The length for the size we are showing you is 110 stitches in the front and the same in the back, and 28 cm long.

Make 2 identical parts, sew the sides, and pass a thread to gather it and fit it to the body, whose sides we had already sewn.

Finally, to decorate the body of our Ruby Amigurumi dress, we will make 2 thin cords that we will pass through the neckline and make a small tassel at each end. And finally, we will make 2 scattered stitches with the color of the skirt all over the body (front and back), simulating polka dots. This way, we will make the design more attractive.
