MATERIALS:

To knit the baby hooded jacket, we will use Rubí Bambino yarn color 004 (3 balls); size 4 knitting needles and a tapestry needle.

Back

Cast on 87 sts and work 5 cm in double moss stitch, then continue in stockinette stitch. At 31 cm, shape the armhole by decreasing 3 sts, 2 sts, 1 st on both sides.

At 19 cm from the armhole, shape the shoulders and neck. In the same row, start both, finishing one side and then the other. Shoulders: 8 sts, 8 sts, 8 sts; and the neck: the central 13 sts, then 5 sts, and 2 sts.

Front

Cast on 58 sts, work the same number of rows in moss stitch as for the back. When starting stockinette stitch, continue the first 13 sts (or last, depending on the front) in moss stitch until you reach the neck.

At 31 cm, you reach the armhole, but now decrease 6 sts, 2 sts, 1 st. At 8 cm from the armhole, start the neck. First, close the 13 moss stitches, then 3 sts, 2 sts, 2 sts, 1 st.

At 14 cm from the armhole, shape the shoulders: 8 sts, 8 sts, 8 sts.

Along the front sides, decrease 2 sts, 1 by 1, evenly distributed.

The other front piece is the same but reversed.

Sleeves

Cast on 36 sts, work 6 rows in moss stitch, then continue in stockinette stitch. Along the sleeve and on both sides, increase 7 sts, 1 by 1, evenly distributed. At 21 cm, start shaping the sleeve cap by decreasing on both sides: first 2 sts, then 1 st 5 times, 2 sts 4 times, 3 sts 2 times, and finally, close the remaining stitches all at once.

Then sew the shoulders and sides, and attach three wooden buttons.

Hood

Cast on 115 sts, work the same number of rows in moss stitch and stockinette stitch. At 11 cm from the beginning, close 42 sts on each side and continue with the remaining stitches in the center until they measure 16 cm. Close these stitches and sew the sides to the previously closed stitches. Fit the hood to the neck opening.

With this yarn, it is not necessary to make buttonholes, as the yarn is flexible and the button passes through easily.
