FINAL RESULT:

PATTERN:
Start with a magic ring or, if you prefer, with a circle of 4 chains and close with a slip stitch in the first chain.
Round 1, 2 chains (counts as double crochet), 11 more double crochets in the ring, total 12 double crochets, close with a slip stitch in the second chain from the beginning.
Round 2, in this round we need to make 12 increases and we should have 24 stitches at the end. They are made as follows: 2 chains (count as double crochet), (2 double crochets in the next double crochet) repeat (...) 11 times, 1 double crochet in the last remaining stitch (this last stitch is the pair of the 2 chains that we didn't make at the beginning). Close with a slip stitch in the second of the two starting chains.
Round 3, 2 chains (count as double crochet) 1 double crochet in the next stitch, 2 chains in the air, skip one double crochet, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches. Two chains in the air, skip one stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches. Repeat this all the way around. At the end, we will have 8 openwork sections. If you see it curling up a bit, don't worry, it's normal, it will be fixed in the next round. Finish with 1 slip stitch in the second starting chain.
Round 4, in this round, at the end, we should have 48 stitches, which we distribute as follows: 2 chains (count as double crochet), 2 double crochets in the next double crochet, 3 double crochets in the 2-chain space, repeat this sequence until the end of the round. Close with a slip stitch in the second starting chain.
Round 5, 2 chains (count as double crochet) 1 double crochet in each of the next two stitches, 1 increase in the next stitch (1 increase = two double crochets in the same stitch). The sequence in this round is 3 stitches and 1 increase, repeat throughout the round, at the end we should finish with 1 increase and we should have 60 double crochets. Close with a slip stitch in the second starting chain.
Round 6, 2 chains (count as double crochet) 1 double crochet in the next stitch, 1 chain in the air, skip 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, 1 chain in the air, skip 1 double crochet, repeat all around with this sequence, at the end of the round we should have 20 openwork sections, don't worry if it curls up a bit, it will be fixed in the next round. Close with a slip stitch in the second starting chain.
Round 7, 2 chains (count as double crochet), 1 double crochet in the next stitch, 2 double crochets in the chain space (in the openwork), 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches, all around, when we finish it we should have 80 double crochets. Close with a slip stitch in the second starting chain.
Round 8, 2 chains (count as double crochet) 1 double crochet in the next 5 stitches, 1 increase (2 stitches in the same stitch), 1 double crochet in the next 6 stitches, 1 increase (the sequence of this round is 6 stitches and 1 increase) at the end finish with 1 double crochet in each of the last 3 stitches, we should have 91 double crochets. If you need to leave 2 double crochets in the openwork on the last stitch, that's fine. Close as in all rounds.
Round 10, repeat Round 7, at the end we should have 120 double crochets. Close as in all rounds. Close as in all rounds.
