Feather cot mobile

MATERIALS

To make the feather crib mobile, we will use Rubí Perlé Oro nº5 colors 002, 503, 502, 501, 103 and 500 (1 ball of each); Scissors; 2 sticks; Optional: plastic flowers or branches and LED light.

FINAL RESULT

PATTERN

We start by making the feather's central vein, cutting 20 threads 40cm long. We will fold them in half and tie them with a string.

To make the feather's barbs, we will cut 12 groups of 15 threads 20cm long.
We will tie the 12 groups of threads to the central vein using a flat knot.
We will make feathers of different sizes and colors for our crib mobile. To make smaller feathers, we will tie fewer groups to the central vein and trim the threads a bit more.

We will tie the two sticks together with another string and start hanging the feathers as desired, alternating colors and sizes.

To prevent our feathers from losing their shape when hung, we can starch them with hairspray; the more times we repeat this process, the firmer the feather barbs will become.

We decorate our sticks with small branches or flowers and it will be ready to hang and delight our baby.
