Martina Summer
DIFFICULTY LEVEL 2
MATERIALS:
To make the Martina Summer bikini by Alimaravillas, we will use Rubí Natural Medium cotton (VHA06) color 006 (5-6 balls); size 4 crochet hook; and 3 clasps.
Choose your favorite color in our online store.
Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
Sl st: slip stitch
Sc: single crochet
Dc: double crochet
Bpdc: Back Post double crochet (
Fpdc: Front Post double crochet
Dc (rev): reverse double crochet.
Dec: decrease. Convert two stitches into one.
Inc: Increase. Work two stitches into one stitch.
[ ]st: work stitches between brackets into the same stitch.
Before you begin, you should know:
The size in which the bikini was crocheted is a medium, understanding medium as a size 38, with a bust size 85.
The post double crochets should be as shown in videos 2 and 3. If you don't feel capable, make them normal, but the texture will not be the same.
This bikini can be crocheted according to your skill level. That is, we can substitute some stitches to make the experience easier for those with a low skill level.
When crocheting in dc, 2 or 3 turning chains will be given, as stated, and they will count as the first stitch of the round we are working.
To adapt the pattern, simply:
Add more chains and stitches in the top or fewer. Do not forget to take this proportion into account when adding or subtracting rounds.
Add more chains and stitches to the hip circle of the brief and some more when we start crocheting linearly. Do not forget to complete the necessary extra or fewer rounds to achieve the desired piece.
FINAL RESULT:

PATTERN
Briefs (size M)
124 chains, 1 sl st in the first stitch to close in a circle (Make sure not to twist the work)
1. 123 sl st, 1 sl st in the first chain of the base chain.
2. 3 ch, 123 dc caught in the back loop of the base chain (Video 2), 1 sl st.
3 – 5. 2 ch, 123 bpdc, 1 sl st.
For a more beautiful finish, if your skill level allows, instead of front post double crocheting the post of the dc from the previous round, you could try working it into the back loop of the top of the double crochet. As shown in video 2. This way, the design effect will be more elegant and beautiful.
6 – 7. 2 ch, 123 dc, 1 sl st

** Close and leave a long tail to sew this end to the waistband we created during the rounds we crocheted in the round. Center the piece to align it with pins and sew stitch by stitch with a tapestry needle.
** Embellish the two leg openings with a single crochet trim. To do this, start with a turning chain and follow the circle in single crochet until you reach the first single crochet worked, where you will close with a slip stitch. There will be no need to embellish the top of the brief because we already did it in the first two rounds.
TOP (size 85)
We will crochet in rows. From right to left and turning the work.
117 ch, 1 turning ch.
1. 117 sc
2. 2 ch, 116 dc into the back loop of the Base Chain (Video 1)
3. 2 ch, 115 bpdc, 1 dc. (video 2)
4. 2 ch, 115 fpdc, 1 dc. (video 3)
5. 2 ch, 115 bpdc, 1 dc. (video 2)
6 – 8. 2 ch, 116 dc

10. 2 ch, 1 dc, 1 dec, 33 dc, 1 dec, 34 dc, 1 dec, 33 dc, 1 dec, 2 dc
11. 2 ch, 8 dc, 1 dec, [9 dc, 1 dec]x3, 21 dc, [1 dec, 9 dc]x4
12 – 13. 2 ch, 1 dc in each stitch.
**The pattern is designed to leave a little looseness at the bottom and create the eighties effect I was looking for. If you prefer more support, add one or two more rounds and in the last round, alternate decreases as you like to achieve the desired effect.
**Make a single crochet trim on the sides of the created rectangle to embellish the work. Remember to chain up in the first stitch.
**Sew three clasps to the sides to serve as a closure. If you want to add more, it can look very nice.
